Samaritan’s Fellowship Foundation Pakistan works with marginalized and minority communities to defend their rights, strengthen their voice, and create opportunities for lasting self-reliance.
Our work connects three pillars: Freedom, Rights & Empowerment; Economic Opportunity; and Peace & Fellowship.
We speak for the freedom of people from social differences, injustice, modern slavery, extremism, religious intolerance, persecution, and poverty.
Emerging technologies are reshaping freedom, human rights, democracy, and economic opportunity. Yet marginalized communities face growing digital risks, exclusion, and inequality.
Through IMPULSE, we advance digital safety, protect civic space, promote responsible AI, and create technology-enabled pathways to freedom, democratic participation, and economic independence.
Every gift matters.
Every gift brings a family closer to freedom.
Give monthly. Help families stay free.
Artificial intelligence and emerging technologies are creating new opportunities to advance human rights, strengthen democratic participation, protect civic space, and promote economic inclusion. By expanding access to information, amplifying marginalized voices, and enabling meaningful civic engagement, these technologies can help communities exercise their rights and participate in decisions that shape their lives.
Through IMPULSE, Samaritan’s Fellowship Foundation harnesses emerging technologies to advance digital safety, responsible AI governance, economic independence, and democratic empowerment. Our rights-based approach focuses on strengthening civic space, protecting fundamental freedoms, and advancing democratic resilience, while enabling communities affected by poverty, exploitation, and exclusion to overcome barriers, build sustainable livelihoods, and shape their own futures. Technology should empower people, expand freedom, and create opportunities for everyone to thrive
Empowering marginalized communities to overcome exploitation, protect their fundamental rights, and build independent livelihoods through AI and emerging technologies. Our work strengthens digital safety, civic freedoms, democratic participation, and economic inclusion—enabling vulnerable communities to raise their voices, exercise their rights, and shape their own futures.
Protecting people, their identities and their rights in increasingly complex digital environments.
Digital technologies have become essential to communication, education, employment, financial transactions and civic engagement. At the same time, digital risks can threaten privacy, personal security, livelihoods and fundamental freedoms. People with limited digital literacy and access to reliable assistance may be especially vulnerable to identity misuse, online harassment, financial fraud, account compromise, unauthorized data exposure, digitally facilitated exploitation and technology-enabled intimidation. Women, young people, human rights defenders and marginalized communities can face particular barriers to seeking protection or reporting abuse.
SFFP’s Digital Safety & Security pillar focuses on strengthening practical knowledge, personal agency and organizational resilience. Priority areas include:
Our approach goes beyond technical instruction. It connects digital safety with the protection of human dignity, freedom of expression, access to information and the ability to engage in community life without intimidation.
Digital safety is not merely a technological concern. It is increasingly a human rights concern.

Strengthening the ability of communities to participate, organize, express concerns and engage with public institutions.
Democratic empowerment begins when people have the knowledge, confidence and opportunities to participate meaningfully in decisions affecting their lives. Technology can create new channels for civic education, public consultation, access to information, community organizing and institutional accountability. But these opportunities are not equally accessible, and digital participation may expose vulnerable individuals to misinformation, harassment, exclusion or intimidation.
Our Civic Space & Democratic Participation pillar explores how responsible technology can strengthen inclusive democratic engagement while protecting the fundamental rights of individuals and communities. The programme emphasizes:
We believe that communities must be more than passive recipients of information, assistance or government decisions. They should have the capacity to understand the issues affecting them, express their priorities, contribute to solutions and engage constructively with the institutions responsible for public service delivery and the protection of rights. Technology should strengthen these possibilities—not narrow them.

Advancing artificial intelligence that respects human rights, strengthens accountability and serves the public interest.
Artificial intelligence is rapidly influencing recruitment, education, public administration, financial services, communication, information access and economic decision-making. These changes raise fundamental questions about fairness, transparency, accountability, privacy, bias and the protection of human dignity.
Who benefits when AI systems are introduced? Who may be excluded? How are decisions made? What happens when automated decisions produce discriminatory outcomes? How can affected communities understand and challenge systems that shape their opportunities? Such questions must not be left exclusively to technology developers and institutions.
Civil society and communities affected by technological change should have a meaningful role in shaping responsible AI governance. SFFP’s AI Governance & Responsible Innovation pillar seeks to advance public understanding and informed participation in emerging technology debates. Its areas of focus include:
Innovation should not come at the expense of the people it is intended to serve. Our guiding principle is that technology must remain accountable to human rights, democratic values and the public interest.

Addressing the inequalities that determine who is protected, who participates, and who benefits from technological progress.
Technology is often presented as universally accessible and transformative. In reality, the ability to benefit from technological change depends heavily on income, education, geography, accessibility, social circumstances and existing patterns of discrimination. People who have experienced bonded labour, displacement, poverty or exclusion may confront multiple barriers to accessing digital tools, developing marketable skills or exercising their rights online. These barriers can reproduce existing inequalities in new forms. Technology justice means looking beyond access to devices and connectivity. It means examining whether technological systems distribute benefits and risks fairly, whether people have meaningful choices, and whether affected communities can seek protection and remedy when harm occurs.
This pillar brings SFFP’s broader work against exploitation and social injustice into the digital and technological environment. Core priorities include:
For SFFP, technological justice is inseparable from social justice. A future shaped by advanced technology cannot be considered genuinely progressive if people already living on the margins are pushed further behind.
We document these stories to preserve memory, promote due process and defend the dignity of every person.

Turning technological access into meaningful economic opportunity, sustainable livelihoods and pathways to self-reliance.
Economic independence is a critical dimension of lasting freedom. For people recovering from exploitation, low-income families and young people facing barriers to employment, the challenge is not simply acquiring new skills. It is translating those skills into sustainable income, economic security and long-term opportunity.
Artificial intelligence and emerging digital tools offer new possibilities for entrepreneurship, productivity, business management, service delivery and employment. Yet access to AI tools alone does not create livelihoods. People need practical experience, relevant guidance, market connections, ongoing support and opportunities to apply their capabilities in real economic settings. SFFP therefore envisions an AI-enabled economic inclusion model that connects two groups whose needs often remain disconnected:
Rather than treating these challenges separately, the model seeks to connect them. Young people can develop practical AI-enabled business-support skills while small enterprises gain access to services that may improve their operations, customer engagement, productivity and growth. Potential services include digital marketing, customer communications, market research, basic business analytics, digital recordkeeping, product presentation and AI-assisted operational support. The goal is not simply to create more training courses. It is to establish a practical bridge between skills, enterprise development and employment.

Set Them Free is a life-changing initiative that rescues families trapped in generational slavery in Pakistan.
Your donation helps pay off their debts, secure their freedom, and support them in rebuilding their lives with dignity. In many cases, just $800 can help free an entire family.
You’ll be redirected securely to GlobalGiving
Across most of Pakistan’s brick kilns, families are trapped in generational slavery over a loan as small as $800–$1,300. Their children never see a school, their daughters grow up in fear, and their parents spend a lifetime molding bricks they can never escape. Set Them Free, an initiative by Samaritan’s Fellowship Foundation, rescues these families, restores dignity, and provides safe housing, education, and livelihood opportunities.
Your donation can break the chains of slavery, give children a chance to learn, and empower parents to earn safely. With just one or recurring donation, you can legally clear a family’s debt, rescue them from abuse, and give them a future where they can work with dignity instead of bondage. You can turn a life of suffering into a new beginning.

Born Into Slavery — With No Way Out
In Pakistan’s brick kilns, families are trapped in bonded labor for generations.
They inherit debt — not freedom.
Men, women, and even children work long hours under harsh conditions, yet their wages are withheld, and debts continue to grow.
This is not just poverty — it is a system of exploitation where families are controlled, abused, and denied their basic human rights.
👉 Generations are born, live, and die in slavery — without ever experiencing freedom.
How We Set Them Free
Through the Set Them Free Initiative, Samaritan’s Fellowship Foundation rescues families trapped in bonded labor and helps them start a new life of dignity and freedom.
👉 This is not charity — this is freedom.

We provide livelihood support so families can sustain themselves and avoid falling back into debt.
Samaritan’s Fellowship Foundation Pakistan (SFFP) advances freedom, dignity, and opportunity by building integrated ecosystems that empower communities to lead lasting change. Through integrated, community-led solutions that promote human rights, education, healthcare, clean water, sustainable livelihoods, and local leadership, we help build stronger, more resilient communities across Pakistan. Our work is guided by transparency, accountability, responsible stewardship, and good governance. Together with our national and international partners, we deliver measurable, sustainable, and lasting impact.
For just $800–$1,300, entire families are trapped in generations of bonded labor. Mothers, fathers, and children work side by side at brick kilns for years, yet their wages are stolen, debts grow, and freedom remains out of reach.
Brick kilns are burning their future. One donation can break a generational cycle. Stand with the oppressed. Your help can end their slavery. Let’s give them a chance to live.

Although Pakistan’s Constitution clearly prohibits slavery, forced labour, and human trafficking (Article 11), thousands of families are still trapped in bonded labour, especially at brick kilns (bhattas), agricultural fields, and factories. Most of them are poor minority families who take small loans but are later forced to work for years — sometimes generations — to repay unfair debts. This is modern-day slavery. Pakistan has several fragmented laws, such as:
However, Pakistan still does NOT have a dedicated and comprehensive Modern Slavery Law. Existing laws are weakly enforced, victims have no legal protection, and very few rehabilitation mechanisms exist. As a result, many families remain stuck in abusive, exploitative, and inhumane working conditions.
