Samaritan’s Fellowship Foundation works with communities, public institutions, civil society and development partners to address vulnerability at its roots. We may enter through an immediate need — freedom from exploitation, healthcare, safe water, education or economic hardship — but we do not stop at emergency assistance. We listen, assess, coordinate, respond and build capacity so that communities can move toward dignity, independence and meaningful participation. Our goal is not simply to deliver aid. Our goal is lasting change.
Samaritan’s Fellowship Foundation is an independent civil society organization working in support of Pakistan’s broader development, human rights and social protection priorities. We are not a government agency. We work alongside relevant government departments, local administrations, statutory committees, civil society organizations, community groups and development partners wherever cooperation can improve protection, service delivery and long-term outcomes. SFFP works through six flagship pathways. Each responds to a different form of vulnerability, but all are designed to connect—moving people and communities from immediate need toward long-term independence, dignity and participation.
Ending Bonded Labour
Set Them Free is one of our key entry points into communities affected by bonded labour, debt bondage and severe economic exploitation. Cases may be identified through communities, local contacts, field networks or partner organizations. Our role is to understand the situation, activate appropriate protection pathways, and support families from exploitation toward rehabilitation and long-term independence.
How We Work
Healthcare as an Entry Point
A medical camp can reveal much more than illness. Our Mobile Medical Mission brings qualified doctors and medical teams into underserved communities, providing immediate care while helping us understand wider health patterns and underlying community needs.

From Emergency Water to Sustainable Access
Water insecurity does not look the same everywhere. In some communities, water is available but unsafe to drink. In others, families—particularly women and girls—must travel several kilometres to collect it. Our response depends on the nature, urgency and underlying cause of the problem.

We are also exploring emerging technologies that may offer new solutions for water-stressed communities. This includes the potential testing of atmospheric water generation and similar systems with qualified technical and international partners. Any new technology would first be assessed and piloted for local climate, energy requirements, water quality, operating cost, maintenance and long-term sustainability before wider deployment.
From Skills to Sustainable Livelihoods
We believe sustainable livelihoods work best when people retain ownership of their decisions. We do not begin by telling someone what business they must start. We begin by listening to their experience, interests, skills and ideas.

Creating Pathways to Learning
Our first preference is not to duplicate education where an accessible system already exists. We help families use available opportunities and work to address the barriers that keep children and adults from learning.

From Beneficiaries to Citizens. From Citizens to Community Leaders.
Development becomes stronger when people understand both their rights and their responsibilities as citizens. Working with human-rights organizations, civil-society partners including the Center for Human Rights Education, community networks and other stakeholders, SFFP supports activities that strengthen awareness, participation and grassroots leadership.
Activities may include: human-rights education, civic education, leadership training, community dialogue, advocacy and communication skills, community organizing, institutional engagement, peaceful conflict resolution, pluralism and interfaith dialogue, rights monitoring and community-led initiatives.
Our objective is nonpartisan civic empowerment. We do not tell people whom to support politically. We help people understand how to participate, raise their voice peacefully, engage institutions, and contribute constructively to decisions affecting their communities.

Human vulnerability rarely exists in isolation. Water, health, education, income, exploitation and civic exclusion often reinforce one another. That is why we connect our projects and build pathways that support long-term change.
Communities are not passive beneficiaries. They help identify needs, shape practical responses, contribute local knowledge and build ownership of solutions.
We coordinate with relevant public institutions, statutory mechanisms, civil society organizations, technical experts and development partners where collaboration can strengthen protection, service delivery and long-term outcomes.
Field experience and community-level information help us understand patterns, improve programs and identify where a different or wider intervention may be needed.

Our work is grounded in dignity, freedom, equality and opportunity.
Relevant principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights are reflected across our programs, including freedom from slavery and servitude, equality, decent work, education, participation and an adequate standard of living.
Pakistan’s legal and institutional framework provides mechanisms for addressing bonded and forced labour. SFFP strengthens its response through identification, documentation, referral, protection and coordination with relevant authorities and institutions.

Our direction is to strengthen both family protection and institutional accountability.
Our civic-empowerment work promotes human rights, rule of law, civic education, peaceful participation, accountability, pluralism and stronger civil society.
We support nonpartisan civic participation and help communities build the knowledge, confidence and leadership needed to engage constructively with institutions and public life.
We learn from field experience, community feedback, government engagement, research, professional advice and partner expertise. These lessons help us strengthen protection pathways, improve program design and adapt our approach as communities and conditions evolve.
